Eating white rice could be quite monotonous and sometimes boring. To jazz up white rice, i sometimes add curry powder to improve the taste as well as give it a visual appeal. When prepared with stock and stir fried with vegetables then you've got fried rice. When paired with chicken stew, veggie chicken gravy or even beef and potato soup, it takes the flavor overboard. Here's a quick tutorial on how to make curried rice.

Hello Dobby, your presentation always looks so perfect. I'm curious about the amount of water you use to boil your rice. I usually go 2:1 (water to rice) and boil for 15 minutes on a medium flame. It comes out well like so. Your ratio as per the recipe above is 3:1 I'm pretty sure my rice would be a little moist if I used your ratio. What are your thoughts regarding my concern?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliments mr adela :). For some types of rice, the 2:1 ratio would go well but for others, you might have to add some more water to get perfectly cooked rice. in conclusion, it all boils down to the type of rice being cooked.
DeleteWow! You mean no seasoning is added to the rice? Like maggi and other sorts?
ReplyDeleteno seasoning at all miss Blackie.
